About The Show

The South Lake Union Boats Afloat show is presented by the Northwest Yacht Brokers Association (NYBA) and recognized as the largest floating boat show on the West Coast.

History

NYBA produces two leading boat shows during the year; one in September and one in January. Worth noting, proceeds from NYBA-produced boat shows go back to the boating industry in Washington through NYBA programs. Whether exhibiting or attending, your support of these shows helps make boating better in the Pacific Northwest.

Seattle's floating boat show dates back to 1978 and brings together a world-class fleet of power and sailing yachts. The fleet is presented by yacht brokers and dealers in the Northwestern U.S. and Western Canada with a wide assortment of marine products and services to help first-time and veteran boaters enjoy the water. Since 2005, the show has gained in popularity among boaters across the U.S. and Canada with attendance increasing by 40 percent.

FAQ

Short answer, yes. The physical show has been cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions. However, we are planning a safer alternative that will include a mix of virtual and an invitation for controlled walk-ins to the various businesses that participate.

We’re calling it the Boats Afloat Brokers Open House. And it’s the weekend of September 18th-20th. Hours are: Friday 11am-6pm, Sat/Sun 10am-6pm. We invite you to view participating businesses here. If you prefer to set up a virtual showing, please schedule one directly with the exhibitor. Walk in traffic will be controlled and all exhibitors will be required to follow CDC guidelines.
